The Lexmark X646DTE is a higher-end monochrome laser printer that also features a fax machine, scanner and photocopier, as well as duplex printing. It has an 8"-diagonal touchscreen display as an operator panel, printing times of up to 50 pages per minute, a 514MHz processor and 256MB of RAM.

It is also versatile in that it can handle labels, heavy paper and recycled paper or other unique forms of printing (e.g. bar codes). Its scanner can email scanned documents or save them directly to USB flash memory. The whole unit can also detect the size of paper being scanned or copied to select the proper tray to print from. It also has some more advanced fax features, like junk fax blocking, speed dial, fax queue and fax saving to USB, as well as more advanced customizable features like job priorities, different copy settings for different groups, and color/monochrome PDF creating and emailing. It can directly print PDF, JPEG and GIF files (and more) from flash USB memory. It also has security functions like SNMP v3, SSL and IP Security.
