Lexmark C544N
$449.00
Released October, 2008
The Pros:Speed and quality for single-sided printing is relatively good - 25ppm speeds are on par with competitors from HP and Samsung. Suitable choice for small office configurations - network support amongst ~5 machines is reliable and easy to configure. Operation volume is fairly quiet - not likely to bother users working in close proximity.
The Cons:Color printing tends to appear "muted" and unrealistic - not a good option for pictures and photographs. Duplex printing is painfully slow - may take 5+ minutes to print even a two-sided word document. Seems to be compatible with Windows drivers only - Mac owners are forced to seek out virtual PC software.
