HP Photosmart C309g
$169.00
Released September, 2009
The Pros:Small footprint, doesn't take up too much room on the desk. WiFi setup is quick, finds the network right away. Separate casettes for photo and regular paper are great, saves some hassle later.
The Cons:Warmup routine seems unusually long, up to 2-3 minutes. Default driver install is irritating, cumbersome, and leaves software that just gets in the way.
The Photosmart C309g is a low-cost multifunction printer from HP. HP promotes the Photosmart line as being convenient and easy to use. As the name of this printer line implies, photos are the priority with the Photosmarts.

Thanks to HP's built-in photo enhancement features, the C309g prints consistently high quality photos. With the Touchsmart screen, you can edit these photos without a PC. The Touchsmart screen also allows you to access and upload photos without a PC, as well as print without a PC. The built-in wireless allows you to print anywhere from Bluetooth-enabled devices and Wi-Fi-enabled PCs. With Quick Form templates, a standard feature of the Photosmart line, you can easily create calenders, cover pages and checklists. HP's automatic paper sense sets the specs for your paper before a printing job (when using the HP-recommended Advanced Photo Paper). The C309g has the same features as the closely related C309a, but without the faxing capability.
