The Pros:Solid machine. paper feeders seem to work well.
The Cons:No 2-sided printing. Since it is an older HP product, they don't have up-to-date info on the website. 1 minor sw error: when typing in the FaxID, a message box pops up after each keystroke. you have to press "OK" or enter after each letter.
The HP LaserJet M1522nf MFP is a high end multi functionprinter that retails at $400 and was released in 2008. This piece is for small to medium size businesses. It can print, copy, scan and fax. It has an ethernet port, a feature that distinguishes entry level printers from the more advanced ones.

It can handle complex files with its 450 Hz processor and 64 MB of internal memory. It can store up to 300 of fax pages (which seems quite low if compared with the 500 pages of the $100 cheaper HP LaserJet M1319f MFP in the same series). It speed of printing pages, at 23 pages mer minute is better than the HP LaserJet M1319f MFP but is the same as the $100 cheaper Brother MFC-7840W. It doesn't have automatic duplex print options (meaning that it can print, copy and san on two sides of a page automatically), which is kind of understandable since this belongs to more advanced printers that come around the $700 range like the Brother MFC-9450CDN

try to download a driver update. there is a list of 15-20 files, and no guidance on which one(s)? to choose. then the hp download site is slow as molasses.

Installation on MACs tricky.

Fax function died within 3 months - required change of board.

Printer failed to initialize fully after 13 months. Past the 12 month warranty.

Requires frequent power-cycling for PCs to find it and print.

Takes a long time for print job to start after submitting from PC.

Very risky buy. Make sure you don't buy spare cartridges. Useless when the printer dies.

#hp_laserjet_m1522nf_mfp Worked great for a few months now will not boot up. It says Hewlett-Packard >> >> and does not go past that. If the network cable is connected there are no messages on the display and the device acts like it is turned off.
