HP Deskjet D4260
$70.00
Released March, 2007
The Pros:Not nearly as prone to printhead stalling/clogging as similar models from Epson or Lexmark - each new ink cartridge incorporating a new printhead is an excellent feature. Driver software installs quickly and easily on both Mac and PC platforms - allows for simple document customization and fast, reliable printing. Fold-up paper tray design reduces unit footprint by approximately 8 inches - excellent feature for cramped office applications.
The Cons:Doesn't include a USB cable despite requiring one for use - many users will be forced to go out and purchase a separate cable ($5-$10 value). Paper feed tray is seemingly inconsistent - many users report frequent jamming due to partial sheet grabbing, multiple sheet grabbing and partial printing. Unit requires a surprisingly large amount of ink for regular operation - frequent users report spending up to $100 a month to replenish cartridges.
The Deskjet D4260 is an inexpensive general purpose inkjet printer from HP. Primarily designed for light home/home office use due to its rather small ink cartridges, the D4260 allows you to print only a basic variety of paper sizes, including some photographs.

Faster than all lower models, the Deskjet D4260 strikes a balance between speed and cost. The only difference between the Deskjet D4260 and the D4360 besides their visual appearance is that the D4360 is Energy Star certified, meaning it will use less electricity in sleep/idle mode than the D4260.
