HP Deskjet 5440

$99.00 Released January, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Printed blacks are very sharp, almost laser-printer quality. Photo quality prints are top-end and realistic. Small and low profile design, takes up very little room.

The Cons:Curved paper path not ideal for some types of stock. Only accepts smaller ink cartridges that need more frequent replacing. Not built with heavy-duty components, will only last a couple of years before wearing out.

The HP Deskjet 5440 is found at the low end of the series, but is made for those who want quality printing on plain paper at lower cost. It is able to be connected directly to a digital camera to print pictures, however most reviews have found the print quality of photos to be below average and long teerm ink costs to run quite high if used for a large amount of photo printing.
