Epson Stylus Photo R2880

$800.00 Released May, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Print quality is excellent when properly configured - official Epson photo paper and pre-configured software parameters provide rich, detailed image reproduction free of graininess and blur. CD/DVD printing feature is a major selling point - functionally prints reliable high-quality disc graphics ready to be instantly applied.

The Cons:Several users report intermittent ink status lights - components may display intermittent flickering or cease to work at all, despite going ink levels. Print is only able to provide sufficient results when official Epson paper is used - advanced software settings must also be accessed to ensure optimal picture quality, requiring a fair amount of time. Unit seems to perform extensive nozzle cleaning sessions on a very frequent basis - extensive print applications may encounter a self-cleaning procedure every 5-10 minutes.

The Epson Stylus Photo R2880 is a high-end professional-grade photo inkjet printer.  The print system utilizes eight ink cartridges, including four interchangeable black cartridges.  The magenta inks for the R2880 have been enhanced to provide more vivid reds and purples.

Printer may impart unwanted ink dots immediately after self nozzle-cleaning procedure - may contribute to significant loss of ink levels, ultimately costing the user a large amount of money

  • 1

Not recommended for users looking to print "Giclee"-style 13x19" prints - unit is seemingly incapable of handling these tasks despite advertised features implying otherwise

  • 1

High-quality print settings are remarkably slow - users can expect to wait ~10 minutes for a full-page color print, nearly double that of competitors from Lexmark and HP
