Product Shot 1The Canon PIXMA iP8500 is a higher-end color inkjet printer that is also supposed to function as a mid-range photo printer. It uses eight different colors of ink to differentiate more clearly between colors than three-color printers, and has 6144 total nozzles.

Its print resolutions for both black and color is 4800 x 1200 dpi, and it also prints 4" x 6" photos in about 20 seconds. It can print directly from PictBridge-enabled digital devices, and connects to computers via USB 2.0. The high number of ink cartridges is supposed to provide longer times between cartridge changes. Ink droplet size is 2 picolitres, and the iP8500 is compatible with numerous sizes and types of paper.
