Canon PIXMA iP4600

$100.00 Released January, 2005

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Setup is very easy, entry-level users will have no problem with it. Multi-page documents come out very fast. Uses individual color cartridges, saves money when just one color runs out.

The Cons:Takes up more room than seems necessary. Printhead isn't replaceable and wears out within a couple of years. Pretty noisy throughout the process, not for a quiet room.

The Canon PIXMA iP4600 is a photo printer with individual ink tanks and built in auto duplex, released in 2005.  Generic Inkjet printers in general are being replaced by all in ones (AIO) or photocentric printers.

This one qualifies as one of the few inexpensive inkjet printers out there. It offers the same excellent paper handling, with two trays each having the capacity to hold up to 150 plain sheets. Users can also switch between photo printing and regular printing by placing both plain and photo paper in the two trays. What's special about this printer is that it has an automatic duplexer, a feature that's usually associated with very high end printers that cost more than $500. The output quality is a little below par for an inkjet for text, a bit above par for photos, and typical for graphics.
